Indicator 9A: The teacher engages in ongoing learning opportunities to develop knowledge and skills in order to provide all learners with engaging curriculum and learning experiences based on local and state standards.
This pdf file is of different teaching strategies and interactive techniques that were given during a learning opportunity on a teacher inservice day. The teachers got together and a teacher shared strategies she uses to incorporate the curriculum in her classroom that help her reach the state standards. Her students had a great learning experience and the strategies worked well in her classroom and gave other teachers an opportunity to learn these strategies so we too could incorporate them into our classrooms and help enhance student learning. I incorporated dice activity into a few of my lessons. This helped enhance student learning as they were actively involved in the learning process by collaborating and rolling dice. This helped students get out of the normal routine of daily work and do something new. This helped students reach the standard because it was engaging and fun!
Indicator 9J: The teacher understands laws related to learners' rights and teacher responsibilities (e.g., for educational equity, appropriate education for learners with disabilities, confidentiality, privacy, appropriate treatment of learners, reporting in situations related to possible chid abuse).
This picture shows a screenshot of my passing Praxis test results for the Special Education: Core Knowledge and Mild to Moderate Applications. The picture on the left shows the description of the test. This test helped me to understand learners' rights and my responsibilities as a teacher, especially for students with disabilities, and shows that I understand and familiar with these rights and responsibilities.
Indicator 9L: The teacher takes responsibility for student learning and uses ongoing analysis and reflection to improve planning and practice.
These pictures are examples of analysis and reflections I have written after teaching a lesson. This helps me to improve my teaching and improve future lessons as I reflect on what worked and what didn't work in lessons. I make a plan on what I can do better for my next lesson and how I can improve each lesson. This helps me to take responsibility for my teaching and helps me to become better to help improve student learning.
Indicator 9N: The teacher sees him/herself as a learner, continuously seeking opportunities to draw upon current education policy and research as sources of analysis and reflection to improve practice.
These pictures are 2 examples of many synthesis I have written on different articles of research on teaching. Each article has taught me something new about teaching and about my students that help me to become a better teacher. Synthesizing and reading research articles help me to improve my teaching practices as I learn more about my students as seek out learning opportunities for myself.
